This wedding kicked of the start of a crazy season! It just so happened to be for one of my near and dear friends. She's a Mama, a realtor and a KILLER wedding photographer at Decorus Fine Art Photography! We met almost 3 years ago during a styled shoot, in the freezing cold, and found out we had such similar tastes in styling and all things creative. Im so blessed to have found her. Two or three times a year we get those creative juices flowing and put on incredible styled wedding or engagement shoots. Be on the lookout for 4 different ones coming up in later blogs!
This time, it was her turn to be in front of the camera and style her OWN wedding! This girl knows her stuff when it comes to setting up and taking a good photo. She planned her entire wedding, with the help of her coordinator that we work with on other styled shoots, in a matter of a few months. A FEW MONTHS! It can be done, with the power of a creative mind and a solid team! One of her maids is also an amazing photographer and actually shot her wedding as well as being in it!!
We kicked off the morning getting her bridal squad ready at the Surf Chateau, just east of the Buena Vista downtown. The property is built right along side of the Arkansas River. Can you just imagine the sound of the river past your room at night? The chateau is really nothing like I had ever seen. Its a mix of old river rock, cement floors, canopy beds, chandeliers and rustic wood. It made for some stunning photos and amazing light for makeup.
She chose lots of rosey gold tones for her eye shadow and lipstick. But she is absolutely STUNNING without even a drop of it, so my job was so easy. Kristina took advantage of my bridal facials a few months before the wedding We did a few O2 facials with lots of moisture and plumping. Her makeup went on like a dream. She is just breathtaking.
Her maids were one in the same. Can we talk about all the amazing genes running around this place. Her mother, her daughter, all just complete beauties. Such a special time for all three of them to spend together. The maids all pooled together and did the brides hair! What a fun experiance being included in that part of your best friends day. Some rollers here, some pins there, some loose rolled up waves, is was the brides absolute dream! Soft and subtle but still elegant.
She chose a small home rental in Buena Vista, CO. The property had a grove of aspens and other trees that opened up into this amazing field at the base of Mt. Yale. Her groom met her there and they laughed and danced the evening away into the mountain sunset. Every bit of this wedding was perfect.
So remember ladies, with a solid team that has a great imagination and drive, any bit of your wedding plannin is possible!.
